Devour the Deity
03:24
|
|||
We conveniently go on shopping sprees but it's killing me
'Cause complacency can be deathly
Hunting for bargains even if they cost an arm and a leg
We were short sighted, we stumbled and missed a crucial step, yeah
Weโre sitting on a powder keg
We raise a toast but drink the dregs
Devour the deity
That bring our society to its knees
I pray you have a crumb of empathy
Well if not you can eat your heart out
Then with the power of word of mouth I'll shout
We're worth more than you could ever believe
It's pretty taxing when we can't afford to relax
And I really need a break
For the duration of this vacation I'll rock the boat
You've made a grave mistake
We're all boxed up and getting ready to die
At least we have the closure we'll arrive right on time
Don't shoot the messenger just remember to eliminate your competitors
When there's nothing left to monopolize maybe then you've passed your prime
I guess you thought that if you stole enough from all of us
Then you could outlive your own civilization
You must be on another planet
We refuse your pomegranate
We won't be taken for granted
Class Warfare's now in session, raise your hand if you think it's depressing that the power of billions resides in a single person
What gives you the right to dictate how we live our lives
With all the time and money in the world
The responsibility lies with you
To save not enslave us and make revenue
Try to see things from our point of view
We'll see this through
With or without you

Vulgar Culture
03:04
|
|||
These days it seems the flag is always at half mast
So how come change and progress are mostly half assed
Too many kids gunned down in class
Faking their facts, the real villains are unmasked
Somehow we still believe we're living the dream
Convinced that our kleptocracy reigns supreme
It's us vs them cmon we're on the same team
All the semantics make me want to scream
Pledging allegiance
Won't cure your grievance
You'd better believe it
Is some common sense and courtesy too much to ask for
Score and seven years ago
We thought we hit an all time low before we moved the goal post
Was it all just for show?
A little Fanfare never blew me away
We can't control+Z our history
So start destroying monuments of misery
purge our vulgar culture of these crude cliches
Late to the party, we got lost on the way
Turn left turn right
what difference does it make?
Both wings belong to the same bird
Their heads in the sand, it's all so absurd
Is some common sense and courtesy too much to ask for
Score and seven years ago
We thought we hit an all time low before we moved the goal post
Was it all just for show?
At least I know all men are cremated equal
I'm not jealous of the zealots
Just tired of biting too many bullets
And dying to be a survivor in this decrepit empire
Some are born on third base, others in the nosebleeds
They're cutting corners but say there's no foul play
Is some common sense and courtesy too much to ask for
Score and seven years ago
We thought we hit an all time low before we moved the goal post
Was it all just for show?
At least I know all men are cremated equal
Pledging allegiance
Won't cure your grievance
You'd better believe it

Single-Use Tragic
02:56
|
|||
If we can't afford to act
Then what's the alternative?
They've set the stage to deny facts
Our actions are too conservative
I've seen this before on a prior episode
Well tis the season for reason or we'll all be canceled
There's Standing room only, The shows sold out
We've got a rowdy crowd in this full house
Time and time again Scalpers left us for dead
They thought they'd finally get ahead
Showstoppers acting in their own interests
The audience cheers for the end of existence
I'm seeing red now
in this greenhouse
A Paradigm A dozen of Existential threats
The status quo is set to overflow lest we forget
We cannot manifest a destiny of tragedy
Can't you see?
The end of time is still being written
The ink is smeared and bleeding, now the pen's dry your eyes, before we meet our own demise
We're on the rise, I hate to break the ice
Now's the time for extinction or rebellion
Fueled by doubt we can't buy our way out
I can't unsee this apocalyptic vision
No matter what it's our decision
A Paradigm A dozen of Existential threats
The status quo is set to overflow lest we forget
We cannot manifest a destiny of tragedy
Can't you see?

Numbers for Names
02:58
|
|||
They copied and pasted our faces
And gave us numbers for names
If we don't comply with their lies
they'll erase us, oh it's such a shame
False foes forced to take the blame
duped into dying for a twisted game
Inhibit the way we used to believe
Chip away at our morality
Conscripted into chaos with no time to grieve
We're under fire but we refuse to bleed
Now we're on the run
Just trying to make a living
Hiding tears underneath our helmets
We'll conquer fears and live with no regrets
Dark days are ahead of us, listen to the thunderous applause
They told us good soldiers follow orders
But I'd rather tear down all the brick and mortar of this corrupt foundation, we've always been a means to an end
Down to the wire, an empire
Is this why we were created
To trade blood for oil?
An issue heavily debated
oh how their plans were foiled
They Copied and pasted our faces
Gave us numbers for names
If we don't comply with their lies
they'll erase us, it's such a shame
False foes forced to take the blame
duped into dying, but not in vain

Cemetery Symmetry
03:30
|
|||
We'd all be liars to hide our desires
to be nothing more than fuel for funeral pyres
It's hard to light the fire
But I'm feeling quite inspired
Don't you grow tired of living this way?
search for a cure for the itch every single day
There's a steep price to pay
But we gotta carry that weight
I could go for a dirt nap
A big sleep under cover of darkness
Take a load off my back, belly up
Let vultures pick away at my carcass
Come to think of it it's really quite the headache
A sore subject, an unholy confession to make
Some days we pray for a pistol to our temple
In debt to death these bodies were only rentals (Cemetery Symmetry)
Let's put the fun back in funeral
Why the long face, don't be so miserable
Whistle a tune as you walk through the graveyard underneath a full moon
The sweet kiss of death will greet you soon
With a warm welcome to a deadly soiree
We'll be pushing up daisies all day, oh what a lovely Bouquet!
Thrown into disarray
Stop thinking of all the ways to find your grave
You'll be okay, there's a better way, even if it sounds cliche
Breakdown
Are you bored to death?
I gotta catch my breath
Release some facts or fiction
Disregard convictions
To be Aware of your own mortality
Can be a harsh reality
that cuts straight to the bone
A Wounded ego exposed a fragile sense of self, revealing a personal hell
but I'll climb out, without a doubt
There is no sermon with all the answers determined
No one is certain of what's behind the curtain
Come to think of it it's really quite the headache
A sore subject, an unholy confession to make
Some days we pray for a pistol to our temple
In debt to death these bodies were only rentals (Cemetery Symmetry)

Peace Corpse
03:39
|
|||
Of course the corpses of too many good men
Get buried underneath a hollow monument
We're raising false flags but ignoring the red
Drowning ourselves in all the needless bloodshed
It's getting hard to separate ourselves
When we're the ones who created this hell
Another generation poured down the drain
Like father like son it's all the same
Mission unaccomplished
Only the dead have seen the end of war
Profit off the everlasting violence
It's all too familiar
Try to take cover in abandoned garrisons
You can make a throne of bayonets, but you can't sit on it for long
The situation is dire
Fairweather friendly fire
Has these poor souls scared to death and scarred for life, oh
The rich send us to fight their wars
Morally bankrupt cowards can't even shoot a rifle
Our hubris has clouded our judgment
As we sift through the sand for resources
Prop up a puppet government until the strings are cut
How can we keep the peace, when we're infatuated with this disease?
We must put and end to this or it'll end us
โCause never determine who's right, only who's left, a bunch of blind patriots
Of course the corpses of too many good men
Get buried underneath a hollow monument
We're raising false flags but ignoring the red
Drowning ourselves from all the bloodshed
It was inevitable, now the invaders rush in
We have no other choice but to defend
Anxious allies are afraid to intervene
The rest of the world watches behind a screen
When you try to appease the fascists
It's a fast track to disastrous consequences
Mutually assured destruction
When will the suffering end?
Try to take cover in abandoned garrisons
You can make a throne of bayonets, but you can't sit on it for long
This rotten plague of mankind
Will never bring us peace of mind
It takes no prisoners and there's no compromise
We're at a loss
Hanging from an iron cross
In need of a helping hand
Until then, I'll extend an olive branch

Vampirical Evidence
03:36
|
|||
I just need to vent, get some things off my chest
I'll prepare for the worst, and hope for the best
You've raised the stakes, The evidence is endless
So cross it off your list, Trade your fiction for facts
You cut your teeth in the echo chamber
I'm sick of hearing about thoughts and prayers
How can you look at yourself in the mirror
I guess that's how you disappear
Its tough on nights like these when I feel so numb
Their blood's on your hands, you can never wash it off
You think your not affected until you're infected
Not a drop of compassion, common sense is rejected
Did you simply forget the millions of Caskets
And Obituaries, I'm running out of ink
bloodsucking babbling idiots
Making a huge fuss over a little prick
Theyre always talkin but can't do the walkin
Can't even afford their own coffins
Dont look aghast when you're asked to wear a mask
You might as well cover up that evil grin
You're always smirkin
'cause you never learned a lesson
You're free to be dumb
But while you cry for your rights they fight for their lives
Not to be cold hearted
but you can go fund yourself
'Cause you don't care about anyone else
You've made your bed so go lay in it
Now this hospital has no vacancy left
Maybe I'll see you in the ICU
Then I'll take you for a spin in a hearse
But I must say it's gonna be a bumpy ride
You can't reverse this curse
There's bats in the belfry until the day you die
You've raised the stakes, The evidence is endless
So cross it off your list, Trade your fiction for facts
You think your not affected until you're infected
Not a drop of compassion, common sense is rejected
Did you simply forget the millions of Caskets
And Obituaries, I'm running out of ink
You cut your teeth in the echo chamber
I'm sick of hearing about thoughts and prayers
How can you look at yourself in the mirror
I guess this is how you disappear
Its tough on nights like these when I feel so numb
Their blood's on your hands, you can never wash it off

Ugly Mug
03:29
|
|||
Sitting alone in the passenger seat
Of my own reality, I turn the key
A waking dream of my own creation
I think I've found a way to vent frustration
Shifting gears to my coping mechanisms
I String myself along until I fall flat
Sure could use some spare words of wisdom
Gotta pump the breaks I'm going too fast
I guess I'll just crash
Into another avoidable obstacle, it's quickly becoming a problem
I just can't wrap my head around it at all
It's just my luck, I self-destruct, so bottoms up
I'll admit it I've been a critic of everyone but myself
I propose a toast so prost and cheers to our good health
I keep it bottled up
Oh the horror that was in store
Cracks in the wall and Stains on the floor
Don't you think you've had enough
Maybe just one more
Just one too many
The proof is in the pudding
When you lose your cool and your footing
Then you know you're gonna get just desserts
Another lesson to be learned I guess
The taste is bittersweet,
But the message ain't lost on me
These excuses are useless, when I arrive at the same conclusions
It's just my luck, I self-destruct, so bottoms up
I'll admit it I've been a critic of everyone but myself
I propose a toast so prost and cheers to our good health
I'll drink you under the table
As I sweep my problems under the rug
Just look at the mess I've made
By spilling my guts from my ugly mug
I must find meaning by cleaning up my act
Set the bar higher, with liquid courage on tap
I'll feel fulfilled when I rebuild, now that's a fact

Pardon the Heartache
03:45
|
|||
So weak and frail
Your body is so cold and pale
The nurse said it's irreversible
And the damage done is terminal
We're entering
The final stage
They say you're never waking up
You're never coming home
Cards and photos line the walls
My eyes are dried out from all
the tears I've cried i fear I might drown the city, but I won't ask for pity
please excuse me
But I've permanently sprung a leak
It keeps running down my cheeks
Forever changed there's no going back
Your body keeps forgetting the concept of breathing
With needles and tubes piercing your body
To them you'll be another statistic
But to me you were my everything
You were so strong, then so sick
The image still haunts me
You left this earth
the day after your birthday
Your mother followed suit
There'll never be another a substitute
It's still hard to believe
I can't keep wallowing in grief
The pain comes in waves
I know I must be brave
I was told by a friend
That my heart would mend
Your voice flows through me in every song I sing
Pardon the heartache
But it's hard to not be torn up inside
Your hand's in mine and I can't bare to leave your bedside
I'm being forced to say goodbye
Our time was cut short, you were always there for me I can't stand to be apart
I was told by a friend
That my heart would mend
Your voice flows through me in every song I sing for you
I sing for you
So pardon the heartache
Pardon the heartache
Whether or not I see you again
In my heart you'll always remain

Mindful
03:53
|
|||
Floating through dreams until it seems
The novelty has worn off
Like a ticking time bomb that never stops
we sink back to reality
And wake to face another day, patiently waiting for our bodies to decay
Well I hate to be the one to complain about existential misery
Hear me out this is just my take
We unleash creature comforts
For better or for worse
A shallow facade is only skin deep
So to speak
Good grief, what's the meaning of all of this?
To find your own I guess, to follow your own bliss?
Without direction how can we navigate these afflictions?
Addictions to superstitions can't be the only way
What's truly important in the grand scheme of things?
Well I hate to be the one to complain about existential misery
Hear me out this is just my take
we cant wash away these stains on our brains
Just know that all of our scars will return to the stars eventually, so be mindful
Brace yourself, don't waste another precious second
Life is grueling, cruel and indifferent
Find inspiration, create something of substance
Take comfort in the beauty regardless
Sometimes the feeling still persists
that to exist
in this universe is a curse
Even though were adrift through the cosmos
Life is a gift, you must steer your own ship
Well I hate to be one to complain about
Existential misery
Hear me out this is just my take
we can't wash away these stains on our brains
Just know that all of our scars will return to the stars eventually, so be mindful
Be mindful
Mindful
